How to Care for Your Vinyl Camper Upholstery
Occasionally, we get asked if we can repair a side bolster on a driver’s seat. These can deteriorate over time, as this is the area that gets the most wear. But sometimes the vinyl has started to crack due to poor maintenance. A lot of the time, the van owner has “attacked” the seat with a harsh chemical cleaner and or scrubbed the vinyl with something rather abrasive. So, to try to combat this we thought it a good idea to publish a guide on how to care for your vinyl camper upholstery.

Spills should be cleaned immediately.
To maintain your vinyl upholstery, you should clean it often, at least once a month.
To start, vacuum the seating and bedding areas to remove any debris.
Next, gently wipe the vinyl using a mild soap and water solution with a damp, microfiber cloth. Or use a dedicated vinyl cleaner.
AVOID USING HARSH CHEMICALS.
AVOID USING ABRASIVE SCRUBBERS OR OTHER ITEMS THAT MAY SCRATCH THE VINYL.
AVOID SOAKING THE AREA – water will soak through to the foam underneath.
Next, rinse the cloth thoroughly in clean water only, wring out well, then go over the areas again, to avoid soap residue.
Finish by applying a vinyl protectant which will help to prevent U.V. damage and cracking.
Remember to keep curtains and blinds closed whenever possible, in strong sunlight. Using a sunshade when parked up can also help to protect your seats from U.V. damage.
Following these simple steps can help to prolong the life of your vinyl camper seats.
