For a while now we’ve noticed a bit of a trend. U-shaped seating! 

It seems increasingly more campervan owners are moving away from the “traditional” Rock and Roll bed and instead are opting to have a U-shaped seating and bedding arrangement, the main benefit of this being more room in bed at night! But there’re other reasons to go U-shaped, such as the large underneath storage area it can afford you, the extra seating space and with that, the extra viewpoints. You’re not stuck facing forward only, you can now admire the views from your side window and door too. 

While we’re still covering RIBs and other styles of Rock and Roll beds, we’ve been kept busy of late creating from scratch, new bespoke U-shaped cushion arrangements that’re tailored to each campervan’s unique interior space and contours. 

One such commission was the one featured above, for a great couple we’ve recently met, Matt and Marie from Wild River Campers. They build bespoke campervan conversions out of their Nottinghamshire workshop and this particular set of U-shaped cushions was sewn in Azure blue vinyl and has Bentley style stitching in a complementary thread. Honestly, the lighting and my photography skills do NOT do it justice. I personally really like how this one came out. I just love the colour and think it looks subtle and stylish, that’s just me though. But what do you think? Perhaps you prefer the bolder look, like this one we did for Wild River Campers.
