This will be the 3rd recession that I’ve personally seen. The first was not long after I left school and started an apprenticeship to become an upholstery machinist in a factory that made sofas and chairs. Because I was on an apprenticeship they weren’t allowed to get rid of me. I continued to work in the trade sewing sofas for many years, eventually meeting my husband Mr Cube, in a little factory that proceeded to go under in the 2008 recession.

.
Cube Upholstery was born right in the middle of the last recession and has gone from strength to strength. We started out taking on all kinds of upholstery projects, sofas and chairs, leisure upholstery (boats, motorbike seats, caravans, campervans) but we soon realised that there just wasn’t anything else like the satisfaction you get from creating some mean looking campervan trim. I never got to sew anything so cool when I worked for someone else.
.
We specialise in campervan upholstery predominantly for campervan converters, dealers and hire companies, though we do try our best to accommodate private owners too and if this is you, then please do get in touch to see how we can help you with your bespoke project.
.
We’ve learned a lot over the last 15 years of being in business and had many ups and downs – more ups thank goodness. We love what we do. We love creating #badass upholstery that transforms and completes a vans look. We love working with other businesses and serving them. We love working with the private van owner and seeing their faces light up when we present them with their finished trim.
.
It’s just what we do. It’s in the blood. It’s what we stick to. We leave the rest of the conversion to someone else. We just do what we do best and have fun doing it. And that’s why we’re DETERMINED this situation (or any other for that matter) is NOT gonna get the better of us. We ain’t going anywhere. We’re open for business with the social distancing precautions in place of course. So if you’d like to visit us to discuss your upholstery needs, or to get a quote, please make an appointment with us first so we can make sure we minimise the number of bodies in our workshop at any one time. This is for your safety as well as ours. Also, if you or anyone you’ve been in contact with has the symptoms, please respectfully stay away for the time being. Thanks. We look forward to working with some of you soon and pimping those rides.
